CAMERA TESTS
7D ASA TEST
5D or 7D
Quicktime 2: 720x1280 at 25p (54sec.)
In the ASA Test, exposure was kept constant, by stopping down the lens as the ASA increased. I started at 100asa, progessed to 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and finally 6400. The intention of the test was to see if and when the noise would start appearing and at what stage does it become unacceptable. I shot each ASA sequence for 10 seconds, so you can see for your self what the noise is doing whilst the camera is 'rolling'. I have also included Frame grabs in full and half resolutions. But I feel the Quicktime is more helpful in 'seeing' when the noise starts becoming unaceptable. Both cameras were setup in 'Standard' mode. No tweaking was done in camera or in post. All images have NOT been manipulated either before or after shooting. All clips were imported into Final Cut 'natively' and were exported using H264 'Best quality, mulit pass' 1024x526 (720x526 16:9). The Quicktime has been further reduced in size for viewing on my webpage to 720x404.
