Joseph (ROY SCHEIDER ✝ ) a retired NYPD cop, who witnessed the massacre of his family in Poland in 1941, travels to Nürnberg Germany to visit his son Ronnie (SCOTT COHEN). No sooner has he arrived, than he begins to suspect that Ronnie's neighbour, Herr Schrager (HELMUT BERGER) is the aging SS Commander who commited the atrocity over 60 years before. Joseph talks Ronnie into exacting justice and vengeance as they set out to kill him.
